In the classroom, participants prepare for interviews, develop communication and interpersonal skills, computer literacy, adaptability, learn to solve problems and manage emotions.
Last year, almost 50,000 Muscovites took part in free group classes and individual consultations at the Employment Center “My career”. According to the director of the center, Irina Shvets, these activities help to increase the chances of job seekers by 30 percent.
“As a rule, we are approached by citizens who find it difficult to find a job on their own. They experience interview fear and self-doubt. Many have extensive practical experience and knowledge, but do not know how to properly present them. To help such people, the center has created a unique technology for “growing” applicants to the modern labor market. In the classroom, participants prepare for interviews, develop communication and interpersonal skills, computer literacy, adaptability, learn to solve problems and manage emotions. These competencies will help to stand out among other applicants and are in demand among employers,” said Irina Shvets.
Today, 325 author’s programs are available in the My Career employment center, which represent the best practices for employment and self-development. Training takes place in four main areas – the development of the skills of a modern person, effective employment, entrepreneurship and self-employment, digital literacy.
In 2021, 30 new programs were developed. Among them are the updated “I Want to Work” marathon, new marathons “How to pass an interview” and “Emotional intelligence for employment”, as well as trainings “How to increase the motivation to search for a job” and “How to support yourself during a long job search”.
One of the most important areas of the center’s work is individual counseling for applicants. This allows professionals to better understand each person’s situation and help them gain confidence. In 2021, more than nine thousand people received psychological support and personal consultations at the center.
All educational programs have been transferred to a hybrid type of education. Classes are held both in person and remotely, using electronic simulators and performing independent tasks. This approach allows you to cover more requests from applicants, get feedback faster and effectively consolidate the knowledge gained.
Up to 600 people apply to the My Career Center daily. Each of them is provided with an average of five services: advice from a career specialist, a psychologist, attendance at trainings, master classes, and the opportunity to undergo career guidance. In total, over 90,000 services were provided at the center in 2021. 15,000 Muscovites applied for assisted employment, more than 60 percent of them were able to find a job.
