In the Kuban, in the helicopter regiment of the army aviation of the 4th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District (SMD), a tactical flight exercise (LTU) with the use of more than 30 combat helicopters was completed.

During the exercise, the crews made solo and group flights to practice reconnaissance and cover strategic objects.

Also, during joint training flights, pilots on Ka-52 Alligator and Mi-28 Night Hunter helicopters practiced combat escort and fire support for Mi-8 AMTSh Terminator helicopters performing a conditional landing of personnel.

In addition, the crews of the Ka-52 helicopters as part of the aviation unit worked out the elements of complex aerobatics, air combat at low altitudes, and also completed the exercise “flying along the route to a given area.”

At the final stage of LTU, combat helicopter pilots performed practical firing, having practiced strikes with unguided aircraft missiles at small-sized ground targets simulating firing points of a mock enemy.

Flights were carried out both during the day and at night. During the training, the pilots completed about 40 scheduled sorties, fired about 100 rocket launches and about 600 shots from aircraft guns.
