The head of the Center for Crisis Psychology met with the head of the territorial body, Andrey Polyakov, and discussed with him the issues of educational work aimed at preventing crisis phenomena (including suicide) both among the employees of the penitentiary system and among persons held in institutions, as well as areas of interaction with the Public Council at the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.

In the assembly hall of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Mikhail Khasminsky held a seminar on the topic: “Comprehensive experience in the prevention of suicides and other destructive behavior: effective methods of prevention and practical assistance to suicides in modern conditions.”

The event was attended by employees of the psychological services of the republican penal system, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Guard and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the faculty of psychological faculties of the leading state universities of Dagestan.

The meeting was held in the format of a dialogue. Mikhail Khasminsky spoke about effective methods of suicide prevention. In an accessible form, using specific examples, he told the audience about their causes, discussed in detail the methods of preventing suicidal behavior in an integrated approach to this problem.

The crisis psychologist drew attention to working with convicts and emphasized that it is especially important to change the worldview of a person who is in a pre-suicidal state, influencing him and his immediate environment.

In addition, Mikhail Khasminsky voiced effective methods of working with people who are in a difficult crisis situation, as well as those prone to suicide and self-harm.

– A meeting with a specialist of this level is necessary for psychologists of the penitentiary system. The knowledge gained at the seminar will help them in their daily work with the staff of the penitentiary system and convicts, – said the head of the psychological service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Dagestan Askerkhan Musaev.

At the end of the meeting, Mikhail Khasminsky handed over from the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia the author’s specialized literature recommended by the UVSPR of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for practical use by employees of institutions for the prevention of suicide.
