Over 300 servicemen of the High Command of the Russian Navy, the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Navy, the Joint Training Center of the Navy, the Leningrad Naval Base, as well as guests and residents of Kronstadt, took part in the solemn service dedicated to the Epiphany of the Lord. It was held in the Main Naval Temple of Russia – the Kronstadt Naval Cathedral. The service was conducted by the rector of the Kronstadt Naval Cathedral, Archimandrite Alexy Ganzhin.

After the water-blessing service, the military sailors crossed from the cathedral in a procession to the Petrovsky pier of Kronstadt, where a Jordan was equipped for those wishing to take Epiphany bathing.

For military personnel and residents of the city participating in the celebration of the Epiphany, the orchestras of the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Navy “Naval Academy” and the Leningrad Naval Base performed.

As the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy for military-political work, Captain 1st Rank Vladislav Pavlov noted: “In the course of organizing the participation of military sailors in the celebration of the Epiphany, the necessary medical support measures were taken, a field kitchen, a heating point and medical care were organized. In accordance with the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, the security of military sailors and civilians who wished to take part in Epiphany bathing was comprehensively ensured. The events were organized with strict implementation of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection and under the control of representatives of the medical service of the Navy.”
