Forecasters predict up to 15 centimeters of rain on Friday.

City services are ready for heavy snowfalls. Now, when there is no precipitation, specialists and special equipment are removing the already fallen snow. It is removed from roads and sidewalks using the rotary transfer method, and then taken out of the yards, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov. In total, more than 90 thousand workers and about 12 thousand pieces of equipment.

“Almost every two or three days, 10 to 15 centimeters of snow appears. This is a fairly large number. Nevertheless, Moscow is moving, there are no traffic jams due to snow, because a system for cleaning the city territory has been created, ”said the deputy mayor.

Almost 120 centimeters of snow has fallen in the city since the beginning of winter. Forecasters predict an increase of up to 15 centimeters – snowfall will begin on Friday. If necessary, the number of workers and special equipment for snow removal will be increased.

The use of rotary transfer allows you to quickly clear the rightmost lane of the road without restricting traffic, as well as use less special equipment for loading and removing snow.

“It is necessary to emphasize once again that almost around the clock workers of housing and communal services work. They clean courtyard areas, clean parking lots, public transport stops, approaches to especially significant places, the equipment works without interruption,” said Petr Biryukov.

In addition, snow is regularly cleared from 17.5 thousand gable roofs so that ice does not form there.

The head of the municipal economy complex noted that all engineering systems of the city are ready for snowfalls: thermal, energy, gas and water. Citizens are regularly provided with the necessary resources in residential buildings, social facilities, industry and business.
