In cultural institutions, as well as in many school and preschool educational institutions of Yurga, there are more than a dozen unique handicrafts made by craftsmen of the vocational school at IK-41. Masters put not only professional skills and talent, but also soul into each product.

It took about a year to make a beautiful and mysterious bird with a wingspan of about two meters. A large-scale craft for the annual competition of professional, technical and arts and crafts, which organizes and conducts educational institution No. 262, was made by the master of industrial training by profession, welder Nikolai Balandin, with three convicts.

To this end, more than 1000 parts were welded onto a metal frame, also welded in the colony, of which more than 800 were feathers. Each feather is unique, it is made individually, by hand, using a special angle grinder and carving that conveys the color of a feathered predator.

After collecting the composition, its weight reached 100 kilograms, so for the bird, symbolizing wisdom and prudence, it was decided to weld an openwork stable pedestal. At the final stage of the creative process, the product was coated with a special anti-corrosion varnish so that no environmental phenomena would spoil the image.

It was decided to donate the metal owl, which won in the nomination “Arts and crafts”, to the local history museum of the city of Yurga, with which IK-41 has established a long-term cooperation. It should be noted that the exposition of the cultural institution has already been replenished with a model of the Kizhi pearl of wooden architecture, a train, aircraft from the Great Patriotic War and many others.
