Divers of the Northern Fleet have started the naval stage of the Depth professional skill competition of the International Army Games – 2022. Training is taking place at the training and material base of the Search and Rescue Operations Directorate of the Northern Fleet. They are attended by the best servicemen of three emergency rescue teams – from Severomorsk, Severodvinsk and Polyarny.

This year the competition has a greater focus on the performance of underwater technical work. Divers will hone their skills in searching for and surveying sunken objects, welding and cutting metal, assembling structures under water.

Trainings are held in the Kola Bay from the Ivan Shvets raid diving boat. Divers work at a depth of about 10 meters. They are monitored by remote-controlled underwater vehicles. A video camera is also installed on the helmets of divers, allowing you to monitor the situation from the first person.

According to the team coach – the chief diving specialist of the rescue squad of the Northern Fleet, captain 3rd rank Alexei Belyaev – the level of training of the participants in the “Depth” competition from the Northern Fleet allows us to count on a good performance of the Severomorians in the upcoming competitions.
