In the Arkhangelsk and Jewish Autonomous Regions, solemn ceremonies of presenting new equipment and equipment to federal and regional firefighters and rescuers were held.

Shakhobiddin Vakkosov, Head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Arkhangelsk Region, and Vahe Petrosyan, First Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region, solemnly handed over the keys and certificates for the new equipment. Seven units were armed with nine units of modern equipment designed to work in the Arctic zone. Among them are ladders, tank trucks, fire hose trucks and pumping stations, mobile complexes for special processing, snow and swamp vehicles.

The new equipment will ensure the safety of about 400,000 residents of the Arkhangelsk region living in the Arctic. High cross-country ability and the northern design of vehicles make it possible to eliminate the consequences of emergency situations, including in the polar regions.

“Each of your trips to an incident is always a risk, a test of strength. The Emergencies Ministry of Russia and the government of the Arkhangelsk Region continue to provide assistance in equipping fire and rescue units. It is important that you have all the conditions for timely and high-quality protection of the population and territories from emergency situations,” V. Petrosyan emphasized.

Sh. Vakkosov, head of the regional head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, admonished firefighters and rescuers who will have to work on new vehicles, study and operate equipment as intended, to provide prompt assistance to the population of the region. He also thanked the government of the Arkhangelsk region and the governor for their support and new machinery and equipment.

In the Jewish Autonomy, the governor of the region, Rostislav Goldshtein, handed over the keys to modern domestic specialized vehicles to firefighters.

The fleet of fire and rescue units was replenished with 10 six-ton tank trucks. In the very near future, they will arrive at duty stations in all regions of the autonomy. These vehicles will protect 45 settlements of the region with a population of about 40 thousand people from fire.
