Servicemen of the Tver formation of military transport aviation took part in the celebration of the Epiphany.

At the solemn parade of personnel, the commander of the guard formation, Colonel Igor Matveev, congratulated all believers on this bright holiday.

Also, for conscripts, open classes were held in the clubs of military units on the theme of one of the main Christian holidays.

In the Church of the Nativity of Christ, believing servicemen took part in a festive service in honor of the Baptism of the Lord. Archpriest Dmitry Shkapenko, rector of the temple, assistant division commander for work with religious servicemen, spoke about the history of the appearance of the holy holiday. After that, the archpriest held a festive prayer service and sprinkled the servicemen with holy baptismal water.

Families of servicemen with children and civilian personnel took part in the Epiphany celebration.

On this day, the Orthodox Church remembers how John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ in the Jordan River. The holiday is also called Theophany, because on this day God revealed himself to the world in the form of the Most Holy Trinity. This is one of the most revered holidays among the Orthodox.
