Army aviation pilots of the Erebuni air base of the Southern Military District (SMD) conducted training flights in high-mountainous terrain.

The crews of Ka-52 reconnaissance and attack helicopters and Mi-8MTVt airborne transport helicopters flew in difficult weather conditions and at night. The servicemen performed an instrument landing approach, as well as flights over the Alagyaz high-mountain range.

The servicemen also performed flights along specified routes, search and evacuation of conditionally wounded servicemen, as well as search and rescue operations in hover mode.

A feature of the performance of training tasks was the performance of independent sorties and landing of a helicopter with one engine turned off by young officers in the role of aircraft commanders.

The ground and engineering staff of the unit gained experience in the organization and maintenance of aviation equipment.

Upon completion of the training flight program, the crews will begin to perform exercises of the combat training program, fly along the indicated routes, and perform combat training tasks.

More than 120 military personnel of the flight and engineering staff took part in the training flights, about 50 units of military equipment of the Southern Military District were involved.
