Servicemen of the anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Central Military District (TsVO), stationed in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, have begun retraining for the modernized S-300PM-2 Favorit anti-aircraft missile systems (ZRS) at the Yaroslavl Higher Military School of Air Defense.

The retraining of anti-aircraft gunners, which will last until mid-March, began in connection with the entry into service of a regiment of modernized S-300PM-2 Favorit air defense systems.

During the retraining, officers of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Central Military District will get acquainted with the material and modern element base of the upgraded systems, as well as study the advanced combat capabilities of the S-300PM-2 Favorit air defense system, comparable to the combat characteristics of the S-400 Triumph. In total, about 40 anti-aircraft officers will undergo retraining.


The S-300PM-2 Favorit air defense system, compared to the earlier modification, has a greater range of detection and destruction of targets, is capable of simultaneously directing a larger number of missiles and firing at a larger number of targets.
