Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 1 is the only multidisciplinary medical organization in the region that provides specialized, including high-tech, assistance in the following areas: pediatric oncology, hematology and otorhinolaryngology.

The hospital is located in three buildings and is designed for 710 beds. The number of hospitalizations is up to 22 thousand patients per year. The number of personnel is 1572 people, including 278 doctors and 627 paramedical personnel.

The construction of a new building for pediatric oncology, hematology and otorhinolaryngology is carried out within the framework of the national project “Healthcare”. In December 2021, construction and installation work was completed, equipment was delivered. Taking into account the terms of licensing, the facility should start working before the end of the first quarter of 2022.

The new building with an area of ​​17.4 thousand square meters. m includes four operating rooms and is designed for 100 beds. The building will house an inpatient department and a day hospital for pediatric oncology and hematology, an intensive care unit of the pediatric oncology and hematology hospital with a stem cell autotransplantation department, inpatient departments for pure and purulent otorhinolaryngology, a central sterilization department, an MRI room, and a catering unit.

The construction of a new building for pediatric oncology and hematology, a department of pediatric otorhinolaryngology with an operating unit will minimize infectious complications in patients receiving high-dose chemotherapy, reduce the cost of accompanying therapy (antibiotics, systemic antimycotics), expand the range of surgical methods for treating vascular tumors using laser technology, will allow to introduce a new high-tech method of therapy – autologous transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells for high-risk patients, including those from neighboring regions, to actively develop oncosurgical care in the region.

The expansion of the operating unit, the department of otorhinolaryngology will increase the capacity of the department, reduce the waiting period for surgical intervention, allow all operations to be performed using anesthesia, reduce the risks of nosocomial infections and complications, expand the range of surgical interventions using endoscopic techniques, including microsurgical and reconstructive operations on larynx, inner ear, neoplasms of ENT organs.
