Servicemen of the newly formed separate engineer-sapper regiment of the combined arms army of the Eastern Military District (VVO) used the new Uran-6 robotic complex at the Burduny training ground in the Republic of Buryatia.

The complex was used as part of a special tactical exercise (TSU) at a training ground simulating a populated area.

Military personnel of the Air Defense Forces conducted an engineering reconnaissance of the area, after which the engineering assault and reconnaissance units in the new OVR-2-02 protection suits carried out a complete clearing of the area using the Uran-6 robotic system.

The robotic complex “Uran-6” is used for continuous demining of the area. It can be controlled remotely at a distance of up to 1 km. The complex is equipped with four video cameras providing a 360-degree view. “Uran-6” is able to withstand explosions with a capacity of up to four kg of TNT, as well as overcome a vertical wall up to 1 m high and a ditch 1.5 m wide.

In total, more than 100 military personnel of the Air Defense Forces were involved in the exercise, more than 20 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved, including the IMR-2 barrier vehicle, the modern engineering power plant ED-30 AI.
