Two unique coastal radar detection and target designation systems “Monolith-BR” entered service with the troops (forces) of the Western Military District (ZVO) in the Leningrad Region.

The complex is designed for long-range over-the-horizon detection, tracking and classification of surface and low-flying air targets in the interests of using land-based and sea-based missile systems.

A unique feature of the complex is the presence of highly sensitive active and passive radar channels, a state radar identification channel, the possibility of combined use of which ensures stability and secrecy of work.

The presence of an integrated digital control and communication system ensures the efficiency of solving the assigned combat missions and the tactical flexibility of using the complex for its intended purpose.

“Currently, measures are being taken to put the complex on combat duty. It will significantly increase the operational and combat capabilities of the troops (forces) of the Western Military District in the zone of responsibility of the Leningrad Naval Base,” said Colonel-General Alexander Zhuravlev, Commander of the Western Military District.
