On January 20-21, Minsk hosted the third meeting of the Interstate Expert Working Group on the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.

The meeting of the working group from the Russian Emergencies Ministry was attended by the Secretary of State – Deputy Minister Alexei Serko and Deputy Minister – Chief State Inspector of the Russian Federation for Fire Supervision Anatoly Suprunovsky, as well as members of the Standing Committee of the Union State, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and State Corporation “Rosatom”.

During the meeting, issues were discussed on the development of optimal approaches and proposals to implement the norms of the Technical Regulations on fire safety requirements, as well as issues of certification and declaration of products supplied within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The parties agreed on further interaction between the authorized bodies, product manufacturers and certification bodies in matters of clarifying fire safety requirements, including in terms of nuclear energy.

Representatives of the working group visited the construction sites of the nuclear power plant, the Republican Educational Center for Life Safety, as well as events dedicated to the Day of the Rescuer of the Republic of Belarus.
