In the library of the Ulan-Ude Guards Airborne Assault Formation, as part of the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Vyazemsky airborne operation of 1942, a book exposition was opened for personnel, civil servants and family members of paratroopers.

On January 8, 1942, the Rzhev-Vyazemskaya offensive operation began, carried out by Soviet paratroopers in January-February 1942, during which more than 7 thousand airborne troops were parachuted to the rear of the Nazi invaders near Vyazma.

The Soviet soldiers were faced with the task of actively contributing to the defeat of the main forces of the German Army Group Center.

The central place at the exhibition was occupied by literary works, memoirs and documentary evidence dedicated to the feat of the military personnel of the Airborne Forces during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
