Artillerymen of the motorized rifle formation of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District worked out the tasks of counter-battery combat at one of the training grounds in the Chechen Republic.

Howitzer and jet batteries competed with each other in the speed and accuracy of combat training tasks, alternately acting as an enemy. Operational interaction and effective work of artillery fire control command posts were organized in a single system.

The servicemen worked out the issues of reconnaissance, preparation of data for firing and fire control of artillery units equipped with 2S3M Akatsia 122-mm self-propelled howitzers, 2B11 Sani mortars and Grad-M MLRS multiple launch rocket systems.

More than 500 servicemen of the Southern Military District took part in the training, more than 60 units of military equipment were involved. Classes were held at combined-arms training grounds, equipped with modern imitation tools that make it possible to create an environment as close as possible to a combat one.
