2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Republic of Adygea

The decree on the celebration of the anniversary of the republic in October 2017 was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Construction, the Federal Agency for Tourism, the corporation “Tourism.RF” and the head of Adygea Murat Kumpilov.

At the meeting, they discussed the implementation of the plan of events for the celebration, and also considered issues of the socio-economic development of the republic.

Dmitry Chernyshenko stressed that last year, during his visit to Adygea, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin gave instructions to develop the social infrastructure of the region.

“Preparation for the anniversary made it possible to concentrate the joint efforts of the federal government and the leadership of the republic on its development. We are already seeing the results of our work. In recent years, new schools, kindergartens have been built, sports halls for children and adults are being renovated. The action plan for 2022 should also include not only cultural and educational events, but also infrastructure projects. Residents should see that large-scale construction of schools, medical centers, polyclinics, first aid stations, roads, and landscaping is planned this year. The master plan includes about 100 events. And most importantly, it was prepared taking into account the request of citizens. Feedback on problematic issues of concern to the inhabitants of Adygea allowed to correctly prioritize and focus resources on the most important areas for them. The government, for its part, will continue to support the region in all endeavors aimed at improving the quality of life in the republic,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

At the meeting, it was noted that the index of output of goods and services has increased in the republic. At the end of 2021, it amounted to 109%. The real incomes of the population increased by 7.4%. The republic’s own revenues are also growing every year. The growth rate against the previous year was 126.8%. And, despite the high tax collection, subsidies for equalization from the federal budget amounted to about half a billion rubles.

The Republic actively joined in the implementation of the new national project “Tourism and hospitality industry”. The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that President Vladimir Putin declared 2022 the Year of Folk Art and Intangible Cultural Heritage. And within the framework of the anniversary, the republic needs to focus on the preservation and development of cultural heritage and folk art crafts.

Murat Kumpilov stressed that Adygea has been actively implementing the plan to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the republic for the third year through national projects, state programs and an individual program of socio-economic development. Over the past three years, 7 children’s art schools and 31 cultural centers have been built in the region, 10 model libraries have been created. This year it is planned to start construction of 3 houses of culture and overhaul 2 children’s art schools and 9 houses of culture.

The head of Adygea added that the Days of the Republic of Adygea in Moscow, scheduled for September, should become the culmination of large-scale events timed to the 100th anniversary of the region. Similar events will be held in the Federation Council and the State Duma. An agreement was reached with the leadership of the fraternal republics – Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia, which also celebrate the 100th anniversary of statehood this year, to hold a joint concert on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace.

“Such a large-scale event as the centenary of the region not only has historical significance, but also provides a good additional opportunity to create modern and comfortable living conditions for the population. In this matter, we also rely on the support of the country’s leadership. Preparations for the celebration of the anniversary are underway within the framework of the federal plan of major events,” said Murat Kumpilov.
