Tenth-grade students of the Nakhimov Naval School took part in a career guidance event with a presentation of the updated military specialty “Information and media communication support for military activities” (specialty “Military journalism”), which is being trained at the Military University named after Prince Alexander Nevsky of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

During the event, Nakhimov students got acquainted with new academic disciplines and internships introduced into the educational program related to the practice of producing and distributing digital media content. The training of specialists in this military specialty is carried out in the interests of the information support agencies of the RF Armed Forces, the media of the RF Ministry of Defense, the National Guard, the Border Guard Service of the FSB of Russia and other structures. During the five years of training, the children will have to master a large layer of information work: interaction with the media, production of multimedia content, replenishment of the Internet resource of the Russian Ministry of Defense, and the introduction of IT technologies. The training program is aimed at a thorough study of the basics of print and television journalism, necessary for high-quality work in the specialty. Cadets study such special disciplines as “Modern information technologies in professional activity”, “Journalistic skills. Rhetoric”, “Fundamentals of media communications. Work with content”, “Issue of educational media product”, “Theory and practice of mass communications”, “Internet journalism”. In addition to special disciplines, cadets study military affairs and have the opportunity to obtain a driver’s license.

The presentation was held at the additional education class for Nakhimov students in the Navigator of Military Professions category. The main focus of this area of ​​additional education is the professional orientation of Nakhimov students for admission to the universities of the Ministry of Defense. The lesson was held based on materials provided by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
