On January 29, 1837, at the age of 37, after a mortal wound during a duel on the Black River, the main poet of Russia died. “Do not reproach yourself with my death, this is a matter that concerned only me,” he said on his deathbed to his wife, muse and main love of all life, Natalya Goncharova.
“Pushkin died a victim of an indecent position in which he placed himself by an erroneous calculation,” wrote Alexei Wulf, a close friend of the poet, in his diary. What is this indecent situation and what was the erroneous calculation, because of what this duel took place and how it went, who longed for death, and who could save the great poet, was Dantes wearing metal armor, and most importantly, what happened after the fatal shot?
