A detachment of warships of the Baltic Fleet, consisting of the corvettes Stoykiy and Soobrazitelny, left Baltiysk on a long voyage.

The main tasks of the campaign are the participation of ships in naval exercises under the general leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, as well as ensuring the naval presence and displaying the St. Andrew’s flag in various regions of the World Ocean.

During the voyage, the crews of the corvettes will conduct exercises on communications, air defense and anti-submarine defense, and perform a number of combat exercises. The crews of the Ka-27 carrier-based naval aviation helicopters of the Baltic Fleet, based on corvettes, will carry out flight shifts at sea, perform training to search for mock enemy submarines, detect surface targets and search and rescue operations.

To ensure the security of the detachment, there are anti-terror groups from the Baltic Fleet Marine Corps on the ships. During stops on an unprotected roadstead and in the course of overcoming the strait zones, the marines will conduct training to repel an attack on a mock terrorist ship.

In accordance with the Training Plan for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for 2022, in January-February, a series of naval exercises are being held in all areas of responsibility of the fleets under the general supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.

The main focus of the exercises is to work out the actions of the Navy and the Aerospace Forces to protect Russian national interests in the World Ocean, as well as to counter the military threats of the Russian Federation from sea and ocean directions.

The exercises will cover the waters of the seas adjacent to Russian territory, as well as operationally important areas of the World Ocean. Separate exercises will be held in the waters of the Mediterranean, North, Okhotsk Seas, in the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.

In total, it is planned to involve over 140 warships and support vessels, more than 60 aircraft, 1,000 units of military equipment, and about 10,000 military personnel to participate in the events.
