The crews of high-altitude fighter-interceptors MiG-31BM of the fighter aviation regiment of the Central Military District (TsVO) in the course of performing combat training tasks worked out the “hunt” for aircraft of a mock enemy in the sky over the Perm Territory.

The MiG-31BM pilots performed a paired takeoff and began practicing combat training missions as part of master-follower pairs. The crews of interceptor fighters deployed a radar field with the help of the Zaslon-M airborne station to monitor the airspace and worked out the detection of mock enemy aircraft in the altitude range from 400 to 18,000 meters.

As a result of paired patrols, the crews of the MiG-31BM found more than 50 aircraft moving at speeds from 600 to 2000 km/h. Air targets were identified by fighter-interceptor pilots using the “friend or foe” identification system, forcing mock enemy aircraft to land on the designated airfield.

10 MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors, as well as about 150 military personnel from the flight, engineering and technical staff, support and flight control groups were involved in the development of combat training tasks.
