More than 1,300 units of new and modernized weapons and military equipment will go to the troops of the Central Military District (CMD) in 2022. This was announced by the commander of the district troops, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin.
“According to the equipment plan this year,” he said, “the troops of the Central Military District will receive more than 1,300 units of new and modernized weapons and military equipment. To build up the combat power of the Air Force and Air Defense formation of the Central Military District and further improve the air defense system, 17 units of aircraft and helicopters will go into service, and the radio regiments of the Volga and Siberia regions will be strengthened by 8 units of new and modernized mobile radar stations, including the Kasta 2- 2″, “Approach-M”, “Defence”.
The Central Military District is deployed on the territory of three federal districts and 29 subjects of the Russian Federation. Structurally, the district includes a number of foreign facilities: the 201st military base on the territory of Tajikistan.
