The military bases of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in 2022 will receive more than 70 units of military equipment. This was announced by the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin.

“The Russian military bases stationed in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will receive more than 70 pieces of weapons and military equipment this year,” Lapin said.

The joint Russian military base Kant in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan is part of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces and participates in ensuring the security of the airspace of the CSTO states. It is armed with Su-25 attack aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters.

The 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. It is located in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It consists of motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance units, air defense units, NBC defense and communications units.
