The center will consist of modules. Its main idea is that every element of the educational space helps children in learning.
A second Letovo center will be built in Moscow according to the project of the Dutch and Russian architectural bureaus. Its main idea is that every element of the educational space helps children in learning.
“The more interesting, diverse schools in the city, the better. The creation of educational facilities as places where parents bring their children, although they themselves do not really want to, is an image that came from Soviet model schools. And objects that are different, recognizable, with their own identity and capable of changing in the course of life – this is a very interesting topic that is relevant for the future of junior and secondary education. The Letovo school is based on such principles – both already built and now another one. I am very pleased that the founder’s approach does not change and every time bright high-quality projects are chosen,” said the chief architect of Moscow
The project of the school provides for the placement of five compact modules on the same territory: two educational, as well as cultural, sports and central. They will be connected by a common corridor. The kindergarten will be equipped according to the same principle, but it will have three modules.
Classrooms will be furnished with mobile furniture, there will be no strict seating scheme: desks can be arranged in rows or working groups of five tables, and with the help of transformable partitions, teachers will be able to divide the class into small rooms if necessary.
The architects also took into account the peculiarity of the landscape, due to which the height difference on the territory of the future center reaches 14 meters. So, the kindergarten will be located at the highest level in the northern part – for comfortable walks for kids in sunny weather. Primary and secondary schools will occupy most of the area in the center of the educational space.
There will be several schoolyards on the territory of the Letovo center. The authors of the project call them “workshops of unpredictability.” Instead of blank walls, buildings for children and teachers will be replaced with outdoor classrooms, amphitheatres, spaces for creativity and exhibitions.
