More than 50 upgraded BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles with the Berezhok combat module will go into service with formations and military units of the Central Military District (TsVO) in the Volga region by the end of 2022. This was announced by the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin.

“By the end of this year, a batch of more than fifty upgraded BMP-2s equipped with the Berezhok combat module will go to the troops of the military district in the Volga region,” he said.

Lapin noted that the upgraded combat vehicle has significantly increased combat characteristics due to the installation of new sighting equipment and a weapon system.

The habitable double combat module “Berezhok” is a classic BMP-2 turret with an updated weapon system. It has an improved combined sight with an independent system for stabilizing the line of sight in two planes, thermal imaging and laser rangefinder channels, as well as a guidance channel for a guided weapon system.
