The servicemen of the special-purpose formation of the combined arms formation of the Central Military District (CVO) during the exercise at the Aleisky training ground in the Altai Territory for the first time worked out the method of conducting reconnaissance “Volume-conjugated surveillance”.

The principle of conducting volumetric-conjugated surveillance allows for more accurate and faster reconnaissance of the forces and means of a mock enemy and consists in creating a continuous radar field associated with electronic reconnaissance equipment, optoelectronic equipment and complexes with UAVs.

During the exercise, in the area of search for a mock enemy, the military personnel deployed optical-electronic reconnaissance equipment, which made it possible to determine the location and actions of the enemy by means of visible and infrared radiation. In addition to them, reconnaissance equipment was put up to calculate the operation of various enemy electronic devices and communications. After the detection of a mock enemy, unmanned aerial vehicle crews joined the reconnaissance, which revealed the exact location and main characteristics of the target.

Also during the exercise, the servicemen worked out repelling an attack on a group from an ambush with the evacuation of a conditionally wounded and further evacuation of the group.

The event involved more than 200 servicemen and 30 units of military and special equipment. The special forces unit of the combined arms formation was created at the end of 2020 in the interests of the command of the formation.
