Presidential Aide Igor Levitin, Director General of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov and others took part in the work of the commission, which met on January 25 at the Government House.

Opening the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin noted that in 2021 production capacities were deployed, constant work of working groups, in particular with Glavgosexpertiza, was established, and problematic issues were sorted out individually by objects in the mode of weekly meetings. We launched the work of a situational center for monitoring the execution of instructions, organized interdepartmental interaction.

“Despite all the difficulties that were caused by both natural disasters and the impact of the pandemic, last year was successful for the implementation of the Eastern Test Site project. The volume of container transit traffic in 2021 increased by 25% compared to 2020, and shows the best result over the past few years,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

As part of the meeting, Andrey Makarov, Deputy General Director of Russian Railways, made a report on the work done in 2021 and on the main problematic issues. Commenting on the report, Marat Khusnullin noted the need to increase the pace of the project and instructed to submit a plan to mobilize labor resources for construction projects.

During the meeting, the members of the commission discussed the implementation of the III stage of the development of the Eastern range of railways. Marat Khusnullin instructed the Ministry of Transport and Russian Railways to determine the parameters for its implementation, including the organizational structure of the project and sources of funding.
