In the Palace of Culture “Ruslan” in Ulyanovsk, a solemn event was held dedicated to the return to their homeland of the servicemen of the Ulyanovsk Separate Guards Airborne Assault Unit, who participated in the peacekeeping mission in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by the governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexei Russkikh, the command of the formation, representatives of the government of Ulyanovsk, veterans and public organizations, the clergy.

In their speech, representatives of the government of the Ulyanovsk region and the city of Ulyanovsk noted the significant contribution of the Ulyanovsk paratroopers to the establishment of peace in the neighboring country and thanked for their courage and bravery.

Also during the event, military personnel of the unit were rewarded with memorable gifts, letters of thanks and letters of honor from the Ulyanovsk region and the city of Ulyanovsk for personal merits, reasonable initiative and diligence shown in the performance of special tasks for the protection of socially significant objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the mission of collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO.

Major General Vadim Orlov, a veteran of the Airborne Troops of the Guards, congratulated the Ulyanovsk paratroopers on the successful completion of the peacekeeping mission: “On behalf of the veterans of the division, brigade, we express our gratitude to you! You adequately completed the task and, most importantly, returned to your native land without loss. You carry high the banner of our illustrious military unit, for decades you have been holding the first place among the formations! It is gratifying that many commanders left the ranks of our division.

The official part was followed by a festive concert. The group “Airborne Brotherhood” and the creative teams of the Palace of Culture “Ruslan” spoke to the peacekeepers.
