Employees of the Kuzbass Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia congratulated their senior mentor, retired internal service major Fyodor Mikhailovich Voronin on the honorable date. Veteran of the Great Patriotic War and penitentiary system of Kuzbass is a frequent and welcome guest within the walls of a departmental university.

Together with his wife Maria Dmitrievna, they decorate with their presence all the solemn events of the Institute. The couple became the heroes of the video “May Waltz”, which was filmed for the All-Russian action “Spring! Victory! A life!”. And before the staff and cadets of the institute, the veteran acts as a living witness to the history of the Great Patriotic War.

Fyodor Mikhailovich, who served for almost 29 years, went to the front as an 18-year-old volunteer. He fought in the Far East, when Soviet troops opposed Japan, was seriously wounded. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, the medal “For the Victory over Japan” and other medals.

After the war and studying at a military school, he served in the internal affairs bodies, stood at the origins of the construction of forest correctional institutions. And after the resignation, the veteran taught basic military training in the schools of Novokuznetsk.
