The last few years for the engineering units of the Strategic Missile Forces are characterized by an increased pace of deliveries of special equipment. This is due to the completion of the development of modern samples that are supplied to the rearmed missile formations. To improve the maneuverability and survivability of mobile-based combat missile systems, the Remote Demining Vehicle (MDR) “Foliage” and the Engineering Support and Camouflage Vehicle (MIOM) were created.

Since 2015, the formations of the Strategic Missile Forces have been equipped with modern models of road builders on a wheeled chassis, since the routes of movement of the PGRK regiments pass not only in forests, but also along asphalt roads, along which the movement of tracked vehicles was not possible. In cooperation with industrial enterprises, a wheeled road vehicle (KDM) was developed, put into service and put into mass production. The Strategic Missile Forces units received 15 KDM units.

In recent years, more than 600 units of modern engineering equipment have been delivered to the engineering units of the Strategic Missile Forces formations: engineering barrier vehicles, heavy mechanized bridges, excavators, truck cranes, wheeled road vehicles designed specifically for the Strategic Missile Forces, and other engineering weapons.

In the period from 2019 to 2021, the Strategic Missile Forces units were completely updated with modern truck cranes. The supply of modern models of engineering weapons to the troops continues. In 2022, it is planned to supply SKO-10K integrated water treatment plants, EOV-3523 (3521M) excavators, and engineering clearing vehicles.

The engineering units of the Strategic Missile Forces are designed to perform the entire range of tasks of engineering support for the combat duty of formations and military units of the Strategic Missile Forces, related to the engineering preparation of combat patrol routes, field positions, strengthening the security and defense of Strategic Missile Forces facilities using engineering barriers, fortification equipment of field positions and areas of deployment of troops, clearance of terrain and objects, making passages in mine-explosive barriers, masking units in field positions.
