Electronic warfare (EW) specialists from the joint Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan repelled a mock attack by strike and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles during an exercise that ended today.

According to the plan of the exercise, reconnaissance and attack drones of the mock enemy tried to enter the airspace of the residential and administrative zone of the Russian military facility to deliver a simulated bombing strike and take photographs.

Having received a signal for action, specialists from the Russian compound used the Silok electronic warfare system, identifying drone control frequencies and finding their coordinates and control channels.

Then, using the software of the Pole-21 complex, EW specialists prevented the drones from approaching the protected area by suppressing their satellite navigation system. During the electronic impact, the drones of the mock enemy were withdrawn to a safe distance and conditionally destroyed by the forces of the counter-terrorism unit on duty.

Training to counter unmanned aircraft in the formation is carried out daily and organized to timely identify and counter unmanned aerial vehicles and other technical means that are capable of reconnaissance or used as a means of attack.
