The crews of the sea minesweepers “Ivan Golubets”, “Ivan Antonov” and “Valentin Pikul” of the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) carried out anti-mine support for the deployment of the naval forces of the fleet during a planned exercise.

Earlier, warships, boats and support vessels of the Black Sea Fleet left the permanent bases of Sevastopol and Novorossiysk and began to move to the designated maritime combat training ranges.

As part of the exercise, minesweeper crews escorted small anti-submarine ships Suzdalets and Yeysk, and also hit targets imitating floating sea mines with artillery fire.

In addition, the crews of the Admiral Essen frigate, the Ladny patrol ship, the Grayvoron and Ingushetia small missile ships, the Naberezhnye Chelny and R-60 missile boats, as part of tactical groups, completed air defense tasks (air defense ) during a bilateral exercise with the crews of fighter aircraft of the Air Force and Air Defense Association of the Southern Military District.

The ship’s air defense crews discovered and took the targets for escort, then, after identifying the air targets, they destroyed them before entering the combat course.

In total, more than 20 warships are involved in the planned exercises of the fleet as part of heterogeneous groupings, shipborne strike and search-strike groups, as well as a detachment of landing ships.

In accordance with the Training Plan for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for 2022, in January-February, a series of naval exercises are being held in all areas of responsibility of the fleets under the general supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
