The Chief Buda Lama for the North-West of Russia congratulated the Buddhist military personnel of the Military Institute (Engineering and Technical) of the Military Logistics Academy (MTO) named after General of the Army A.V. Khrulev on the upcoming Buddhist New Year (Sagaalgan).

Under the leadership of the Deputy Head of the Institute, Colonel Alexei Kapinus, a meeting was held between the Chief Lama for the North-Western Region of Russia and cadets who profess Buddhism. At the meeting, the Buda Lama revealed the fundamentals of Buddha’s doctrinal truths both from a historical point of view and from a spiritual and moral point of view, and also spoke about the history and traditions of celebrating the upcoming Buddhist New Year.

“Showing genuine patience, love, compassion for one’s neighbor, for nature itself, one gets the strength to work on oneself and comprehend those academic disciplines that you study within the walls of the Military Institute,” the Buda Lama explained.

The meeting with the Buda Lama aroused keen interest among foreign military personnel studying at the institute and practicing Buddhism.

During the dialogue, the cadets were able to freely ask their questions in the field of faith, traditions and rituals and get comprehensive answers to them.

At the end of the meeting and on the eve of the Buddhist New Year, the rector of the main datsan “Gunzechoinei” in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Buda Balzhievich Badmaev, congratulated the believing servicemen of the Buddhists of the Military Institute (Engineering and Technical) on the holiday, wished them to study with dignity and endure all the hardships of the military with patience. service, and treat each other with love and respect.
