With the crews of small anti-submarine ships (MPK) “Yeisk” and “Suzdalets” of the Black Sea Fleet, an exercise was held on organizing air defense and conducting naval combat by a single ship.

Having completed sea passages each to their assigned area, the crews worked out a set of measures to search for, support and repel an attack by air attack means of a mock enemy with artillery and anti-aircraft missile firing at sea and air targets.

The exercise was aimed at working out the actions of the crews in the event of simultaneous threats both from the air and from the sea.

Earlier, a detachment of ships of the Black Sea Fleet went to sea combat training ranges to conduct exercises as part of the fleet forces. The crews of the Yeysk and Suzdalets MPKs as part of the anti-submarine ship strike group have already worked out the search for enemy submarines, as well as the placement of training minefields on the routes of possible actions of the imaginary enemy forces.

In total, about 20 ships and support vessels from the Black Sea Fleet take part in the exercises of the fleet forces.

In accordance with the Training Plan for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for 2022, in January-February, a series of naval exercises are being held in all areas of responsibility of the fleets under the general supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.

The main focus of the exercises is to work out the actions of the Navy and the Aerospace Forces to protect Russian national interests in the World Ocean, as well as to counter the military threats of the Russian Federation from sea and ocean directions.

The exercises will cover the waters of the seas adjacent to Russian territory, as well as operationally important areas of the World Ocean. Separate exercises will be held in the waters of the Mediterranean, North, Okhotsk Seas, in the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Pacific Ocean.

In total, it is planned to involve over 140 warships and support vessels, more than 60 aircraft, 1,000 units of military equipment, and about 10,000 military personnel for the combat training event.
