The crews of Mi-24 and Mi-8 attack helicopters of the naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet, as part of a planned exercise of the forces of the Baltic Fleet, destroyed columns of equipment, manpower and fortifications of a mock enemy at an aviation training ground in the Kaliningrad region.

During combat training flights, helicopter pilots practiced the use of aviation weapons against ground targets at a distance of 500 meters to 5 kilometers from minimum and medium altitudes, issues of fire support for units of the coastal troops of the fleet, as well as conducting aerial reconnaissance.

During sorties for combat use, the pilots carried out strikes on the ground singly and in pairs using unguided missiles, as well as small arms and cannon armament of Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters.

The implementation of practical firing contributed to an increase in the level of military pilots’ training in performing missions for their intended purpose, testing and improving tactics and methods of using naval aviation.

In total, over 10 helicopter crews were involved in the combat training event.
