Specialists of the communications troops of the Western Military District (ZVO), as part of the planned combat readiness checks, took part in a large-scale radio training, having worked out how to ensure stable and uninterrupted communication between the control points of the district, the Air Force and Air Defense formations, combined arms formations and the Baltic Fleet.

“More than 1,500 military personnel are taking part in the planned combat training event, about 300 units of military and special equipment are involved, including the modern P-260 Redut, Andromeda and Belozer complexes,” said the commander of the Western Military District. Colonel General Alexander Zhuravlev.

The servicemen of the communications units deployed Artek medium-power radio stations, unified R-149MA1 command and staff vehicles based on armored personnel carriers, Redut hardware stations and communications complexes.

Also, as part of a scheduled inspection, issues of masking field command posts and protection against attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles of a mock enemy were worked out.
