It will be possible to use the new service with the help of 25,000 validators on all Moscow routes.

Validators in land transport have a new function: with their help, passengers can activate the balance on the Troika card. You can top it up online, and then just swipe the card to the reader to activate the balance.

“For the first time in all surface transport in Moscow, you can activate Troika. Previously, for this you would have to go to the metro station and use a special terminal. Now 25,000 validators are available on any route, almost anywhere in the city. This is a completely new service, while implemented on existing equipment – no additional installation was required. On behalf of

Mayor of Moscow we are making city transport more convenient, including providing new opportunities for topping up the balance and paying for travel,” said the Deputy Moscow Mayor for Transport Maxim Liksutov.

The new service works simply: the passenger tops up the balance of the card through the mobile applications “Moscow Metro”, “Moscow Transport” or single transport portal. After that, in the passenger compartment of the bus or tram, he needs to press a special button to the right of the validator – an inscription on the activation of remote replenishment will appear on the screen. The card must be held at the validator until confirmation on the screen.

The residents of TiNAO were the first to evaluate the service, in December it began to be tested there on 90 bus routes.

Also in December, passengers of Moscow transport got the opportunity to use virtual “Troika”. An electronic travel card can be recorded on an Android smartphone and paid for with one touch. You can issue a virtual Troika in the personal account of the Moscow Metro application.
