Today, a solemn and mourning ceremony dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was held at the Piskarevsky Memorial Cemetery in St. Petersburg.

Its traditional participants were the leadership and personnel of the main departments of the EMERCOM of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as well as the St. Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia. The delegation of employees of the emergency department was headed by Secretary of State – Deputy Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexei Serko.

Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations laid a wreath and flowers at the foot of the famous Motherland monument at the Piskarevsky cemetery and honored the memory of those who died during the blockade with a minute of silence.
