At the training ground in the Kaliningrad region, as part of a planned exercise of the forces of the Baltic Fleet (BF), the crews of Su-24M front-line bombers and Su-30SM multi-role fighters of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation practiced bombing attacks on ground targets.

The pilots performed flights to a given area, carried out an opening of the ground situation, and also carried out targeted bombing with OFAB-100 aerial bombs at full-size targets that imitate command posts, engineering fortifications, manpower and equipment of the enemy.

Bomb-assault strikes were carried out from heights from 500 to 1100 m against ground targets. All practical actions of the pilots were recorded by means of objective control installed on combat vehicles, as well as on the ground in the area of combat use. Analysis of the data obtained by means of objective control confirmed the defeat of all targets.

More than ten crews of the Su-24M and Su-30SM were involved in the flights.

About 20 warships, boats and support vessels are taking part in the planned exercise of the Baltic Fleet forces.

In accordance with the training plan for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for 2022, in January-February, a series of naval exercises are being held in all areas of responsibility of the fleets under the general supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.

The main focus of the exercises is to work out the actions of the Navy and the Aerospace Forces to protect Russian national interests in the World Ocean, as well as to counter the military threats of the Russian Federation from sea and ocean directions.

The exercises will cover the waters of the seas adjacent to Russian territory, as well as operationally important areas of the World Ocean. Separate exercises will be held in the waters of the Mediterranean, North, Okhotsk Seas, in the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Pacific Ocean.

In total, it is planned to involve over 140 warships and support vessels, more than 60 aircraft, 1,000 units of military equipment, and about 10,000 military personnel to participate in the events.
