In the Kursk region, at the Postoyalye Dvory training ground, during a field training competition among air defense units named after Hero of the Soviet Union Marshal of Artillery Vasily Kazakov, crews of Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) of the combined arms army of the Western Military District (ZVO) performed electronic missile launches at more than than 50 air targets.

At the first stage of the competition, anti-aircraft gunners installed and dismantled the compass for a while, loaded and unloaded launchers with four missiles.

On the second stage, military personnel, using navigation equipment, took positions for firing, having previously laid a route to them.

The third stage of the competition included the deployment of batteries, detection, tracking, capture of targets, as well as electronic launches on various types of targets.

In total, about 50 military personnel of the anti-aircraft missile brigade of the combined arms army of the Western Military District took part in these qualifying competitions. 10 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved.
