MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

The military personnel of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh conducted an interactive “Peace Lesson” with schoolchildren of the fifth and sixth grades in the secondary school of the village of Kochogot, Mardakert region.

“The Russian peacekeeping contingent held an interactive lesson on the topic “Peacekeepers. Peacekeeping Activities” in the secondary school of the village of Kochogot, Mardakert region. Lessons were held during the lesson. The first lesson is “Peacekeepers, who are they?”, the second one is on the rules of conduct in conditions of ongoing mine danger, the third one is on first aid,” said Ivan Sokorev, a representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

As visual material, Russian servicemen prepared a presentation on the main tasks of peacekeepers and the history of the creation of peacekeeping forces in Russia and in the world.

Interactive classes are a great opportunity, without leaving the classroom, for children to see methodological materials on first aid and the increased danger of being in the regions of Nagorno-Karabakh, where there may be a large number of explosive objects.

The students received a lot of new information about the Russian sappers cleaning and demining the territory with the help of modern mine detectors and mine detection dogs by destroying explosive objects found on the spot.

Since the beginning of this year, Russian peacekeepers have conducted interactive “Peace Lessons” more than 10 times in educational institutions of the cities and regions of Nagorno-Karabakh. In total, about 1000 schoolchildren and students took part in these events.

In accordance with the agreements indicated in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were declared.

To control the ceasefire and hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is deployed.
