Recommendations are formed individually for each child.

Pediatricians of city children’s polyclinics now have access to recommendations for vaccination, formed individually for each patient in accordance with the regional vaccination schedule. This information appears in the electronic medical record (EMR) taking into account data on preventive vaccinations performed, for example against tuberculosis, polio or influenza. Alerts with detailed information about vaccinations carried out over the past month are also available to doctors. The digital tool will help the pediatrician make a timely decision on the need for vaccination of each patient and always keep this important process under control.

“In 2019, we digitized all vaccination cards for children, and starting from 2020, all vaccination information is mandatory electronically. It is available to both doctors and parents in the electronic medical record. The creation of an electronic register of all childhood vaccinations allows us to take the next step in controlling such an important process as childhood vaccination. Pediatricians in the EMR of young patients now have alerts about their vaccinations in the last month, as well as tips about recommended vaccinations. It is important that they are formed personally for each child, taking into account the vaccinations already completed and the plan in accordance with the vaccination calendar. Thus, parents may not worry that they will forget to give this or that vaccination to their children – the pediatrician will prescribe it in a timely manner. At the same time, the decision, of course, remains with the doctor – the tips are advisory in nature, ”said

Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Government of Moscow for social development.

The electronic medical record contains data on vaccinations made in city clinics or educational institutions – they are entered by medical workers. The card also contains information about vaccinations and immunodiagnostic tests (tuberculin tests) performed in commercial or federal clinics, which parents downloaded on their own.

Since 2020, parents of young patients have been receiving push notifications, SMS alerts, and emails containing information about the vaccination that is advised for the child at a certain age, as well as about the possible disease if it is refused. If for some reason the vaccination data is not in the card, then parents receive a reminder that they need to contact the clinic and provide this information.

On the site of the Metropolitan Department of Health, you can familiarize yourself with the regional calendar of children’s preventive vaccinations.

The introduction of such solutions became possible thanks to a single digital healthcare platform. It is developed by the capital complex of social development and city Department of Information Technology. It contains various services for doctors and patients that simplify their interaction and improve the quality of research and treatment.
