Russian regions will additionally receive over 7.3 billion rubles to support polyclinics operating under the compulsory medical insurance system (CMI). The order to this effect was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The decision was made in connection with the spread of a new strain of the Omicron coronavirus and will allow additional resources to be focused on countering the infection.

“Due to the peculiarities of the course of the disease, people are more likely to seek treatment at polyclinics, and the main burden falls on the outpatient network. In such difficult conditions, it is important to ensure its stable operation,” said Mikhail Mishustin at the meeting of the Government on January 27.

The head of the Cabinet instructed the Ministry of Health to ensure that the territorial compulsory health insurance funds receive federal transfers as soon as possible. “The smooth functioning of the entire primary link depends on this,” he stressed.
