This year the specialists of the Municipal Economy Complex will repair 15 communication collectors. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Government of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

“The city is carrying out a comprehensive systematic work to maintain the underground collectors in which pipelines and communication cables pass in proper condition,” said Petr Biryukov. “This year, measures are planned for the repair, reconstruction and modernization of 15 such structures with a total length of more than 31 kilometers.”

The overhaul will affect eight collectors, including Strogino, Autumn, Bakhrushinsky and Mokhovoy. Specialists will restore the destroyed layer of concrete, waterproof building structures and cover the reinforcement with anti-corrosion protection.

“We will update the drainage systems, we will carry out a set of measures aimed at extending the service life of the supporting structures of the facilities,” added Petr Biryukov.

Modernization is planned in five collectors, including such large and significant ones as Yartsevsky and Mozhaysky.

Collector economy of the capital is a unique underground city, which has no analogues in Russia and the world in terms of length, branching of the network and compactness of communications laid inside. The total length of the collectors is 800 kilometers.
