The changes were prepared with the active participation of the residents.

This year, it is planned to take measures to restore and preserve the territory of the Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo natural and historical park, as well as to put in order the place where the Tsarevna Swan spring is located.

Springs can be found in the northwest corner of the park. Now the coating there is open ground, which often turns into mud due to moisture. In addition, every year the area of ​​damaged green cover becomes larger and the soil is deformed. All this leads to the deterioration of the park ecosystem. The developed design solutions were prepared with the active participation of residents.

“Initially, the concept provided for the installation of a wooden flooring, the size of which was larger than the area of ​​trampled green cover. Now it has been significantly reduced, and it has become a little less than open ground. The flooring will be mounted on a pile foundation, this will make it possible to do without digging, which means that the earth remains almost untouched. Under it, the vegetation will recover naturally, and the remaining trampled areas will be sown with grasses. In addition, they will update the existing viewing platform, include the fifth source in the eco-route and arrange a descent to the spring area for groups of citizens with limited mobility,” said Deputy Head of the Department of Capital Repairs of the City of Moscow

The springs are located on one of the slopes of the Khimki River. According to studies, the slope has a low standard stability factor, there are also pronounced signs of its erosion processes, there are also deep gullies in the middle and lower parts. This is due to the erosion and washout of the soil by water flows flowing down the slope.

In addition, the current arrangement of the springs does not allow the complete collection of groundwater, since the outflowing stream erodes the soil, increasing the steepness of the slope. After heavy rains, the water becomes cloudy, mixing with precipitation.

According to Sergei Melnikov, it is recommended to carry out a set of measures that will ensure the stability of the slope. For example, it is necessary to make pins (a type of pin fastening) connected on the ground surface with a flexible mesh, which will stabilize the slope. Along the slope, it is planned to build a gabion retaining wall, the height of which, according to the new design solutions, is reduced to the height of the existing one.

“Gabions not only make slopes and slopes strong, but also perform a decorative function. In addition, they fit perfectly into the landscape, and on top of some of them it is planned to lay wooden panels – seats. In order to prevent water loss and seepage into the soil and exclude precipitation, a capturing device is required – a structure that will effectively capture only spring water and bring it to the surface, ”said the Deputy Head of the Department.

The creation of captage does not require cutting down trees or laying electrical networks. Ventilation of water in the cappings will be provided in a natural way, and it will be purified using special frame-disk filters, which eliminates the need to treat the capping tank with chlorine-containing compounds. Their service life is 10-12 years. In addition, according to some residents, one of the springs has ceased to function properly, and the capturing device will allow it to be revived.

The planned activities do not lead to water decay and lowering of the groundwater level, as well as to a change in the hydrogeological regime. They are necessary to save this place, protect the slope from slipping and save the springs.
