Tank crews of the military base of the 49th Combined Arms Army (Southern Military District), stationed in Abkhazia, conducted night battles on modern T-72B3 tanks as part of scheduled operational and combat training at the Maikopsky training ground in Adygea.

During the training events, the servicemen demonstrated their combat skills using the “tank duels” method, when one armored vehicle is in ambush, and the second operates at a distance of up to 4 thousand meters, covertly changing firing positions.

According to the plan, the participants in the “duel” had to find an opponent’s tank, take aim at it and hit it with a guided missile. Each element of the battle was accompanied by reports from the crews to the head of the training by means of communications, which made it possible to quickly evaluate the actions of the military personnel.

In addition, in tank duels on vehicles, the crews improved their skills in maneuvering in a real combat situation, choosing the most effective firing positions and camouflage, live firing at stationary and moving targets from T-72B3 guns.

Operational and combat training activities are carried out under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, according to the plan for the winter training period.
