The laboratory designed for PCR diagnostics, including for coronavirus infection, became part of the departmental medical road train.

The speed of analysis and the possibility of obtaining operational information on its basis for making an operational decision is currently becoming a priority for penitentiary physicians. The laboratory is capable of conducting up to 150 studies per shift, with the subsequent transfer of the PCR test result to Rospotrebnadzor.

The first patients of the mobile laboratory were employees and convicts of the GUFSIN institutions located in the city of Minusinsk. In addition, the opportunity to undergo free PCR diagnostics for COVID-19 is provided to ordinary residents of the city. From January 27 to February 1 in the city center, near the building of the Center for Cultural Development, the laboratory accepts everyone. Analyzes have already been taken from more than 750 Minusinsk residents.

“The mobile laboratory with an autonomous power supply system, created on the basis of a KAMAZ vehicle, is equipped with modern medical equipment and complies with sanitary and epidemiological rules and GOSTs, which make it possible to exclude infection of medical personnel during work,” said Anton Petrov, head of the Medical Unit No. 24 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.

According to patients and medical professionals, the mobile laboratory is not only functional, but also quite comfortable even when working at low temperatures and adverse weather conditions.
