“Each academic year, we open new areas of pre-professional classes, focusing on the needs of schoolchildren, the prospective development of the city and business. So, from September 1, media classes began to work in Moscow schools. Accordingly, we are expanding the number of areas of scientific conferences where high school students can apply their knowledge in practice. For example, we offer future journalists and PR specialists to try themselves at the Mediastart conference,” she said.
Natalia Kiseleva, Deputy Head of the Metropolitan Department of Education and Science.
“Mediastart” is a new direction of the “Science for Life” conference, within which students in grades 7-11 can present their projects and research on the media, education, culture, linguistics, philology, and technologies of the future.
Conferences are held in two stages. The first is the selection of works, and the second is their protection. From February 1 to March 1 there is a registration of works. Students and teachers apply in their personal accounts and download the necessary materials. Further, the expert commission evaluates the works and decides on their admission to the main stage. The results of the selection will be known at the end of March.
“Scientific and practical conferences are the most important educational event for participants in pre-professional education projects. Teachers and schoolchildren spend a long time preparing before submitting their research and projects to an authoritative jury. For most schoolchildren, participation in the conference is a step towards a meaningful choice of profession, an opportunity to present themselves as a promising researcher, to declare themselves at the city level as a future highly qualified specialist,” said the director
