In order to provide medical assistance to a convict born in 1976, employees of the Medical Unit No. 37 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia organized an operation – mammary coronary bypass grafting of the right interventricular artery – in the cardiac surgery department of the Ivanovo Regional Clinical Hospital. It was conducted by the leading surgeon of the National Medical Research Center named after A.N. Bakulev.

It should be noted that such operations were not performed on previously convicted persons in the Ivanovo region.

“Taking into account the physical condition of the patient and the results of the medical examinations, and also due to the fact that a highly qualified cardiac surgeon works in the regional clinical hospital, it was decided to perform a microsurgical operation for coronary artery bypass grafting,” said Natalya, head of the medical unit 37 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Koshokin.

Currently, the patient has been transferred to a departmental hospital for aftercare. The postoperative period proceeds without complications, the patient feels satisfactory.
